Not to me. I thought the plugin had great highs, but the real pedal had a richness to the lows and the mids, that the plugin just couldn't compete in. The upside of that, tho, is that pedal sounds frikkin awesome!

I just picked one of these up but it was comfortably under that $2700 MSRP. The build quality is definitely there and my particular example is free of any defects as far as I can tell. I too was hoping for a hard case similar to what those American Fender guys include but the one that comes with the Jackson is not horrible. I personally like it. The Jim Root American Strat does come with a VERY nice hard case and the whole setup comes in comfortably under this MSRP. I suspect the 'actual price paid' for each is closer though.

The Boss Katana BASS version is amazing for guitar. For me personally, the guitar amp Katana, not so much. The Boss nextone is awesome though. If you're gonna go Katana, get the bass version. It's amazing.
